Baby Bath

There are many things to consider when safely caring for your child during a baby bath. This is actually a time when many parents can harm their infant without meaning to. Giving a baby a bath can be fun but never think that you can be too cautious. Before you decide to start bathing your child as a new parent, keep simple water basics in mind as well as some other baby bathing tips. No matter what kind of baby bath you use make sure that it is designed for infants so that they do not develop rashes or other allergic reactions to their soft sensitive skin.

You may also want to get yourselves a baby bath seat to help you elevate your child when bathing them. Never leave your child unattended in the bath or any water for that matter because your child can actually drown by becoming face down in just two inches of water. So the best way to give the child a bath is to consider everything you are going to need before you start so you don’t have to leave the baby unattended at any time. here are some of the basic items that you may need when giving your baby a bath.

You will need a towel, toiletries, pajamas and any other specialty items your child requires. Never put your child in a bath while the water is still running because there are many things that can happen to the water temperature. You don’t want to take a chance at burning your child’s skin so always put cold water in the bath tub first then balance it out with hot water. After the water is in the tub and it is comfortably warm, then put your child in the water. Make sure that the bathtub that you are using is safe for the child by adding safety mats and covers to the faucets. Fill the bath tub only five to eight centimeters or two to three inches for a newborn but never let the water go over the waistline for older babies and children. For babies that can sit up there are suction cupped bath chairs that can give you a hand when washing them. Never put too much shampoo or bubble bath in the tub because it can cause rashes and urinary tract infections on baby girls. You should only wash your baby’s hair once per week because their hair doesn’t produce much oil at that age. So remember that when it comes to giving your child a baby bath there are many safety precautions to consider and once they are made habit then focus on having a lot of fun.
